Soyez Frères SA is a family business, which was founded in 1832 in the Parisian region, and established in 1958 in Donzy, Nièvre (58).
Originally, the company specialized in the processing of feathers for fashion, bedding, brushware and sports (badminton shuttlecocks), but also for the catering industry, while manufacturing goose feather toothpicks.
After the First World War, the production of "chalumeaux", commonly referred to as "straws" by drinks consumers, began.
Initially made from paraffin paper, after which polypropylene, this activity grew slowly but surely, turning the company into Europe's leading manufacturer of straws for dairy beverages, fruit juice, catering and fast-food industries.
Following the discontinuation of its traditional feather business, the company developed new products to enhance its range, such as cloths for cheese maturing and for presenting these.
Today, the company is investing in a plastic-free future.
It is fully committed to the ecological transition and has invested over €8 million to produce paper and cellulose straws. Today, the company employs 80 people and generates sales of over 8 M€.
Sustainable development, health and safety, Soyez Frères is committed.
